Jump!

What an arvo.

Shano and I were due to meet up for a cardio/core session by the lake. I woke up from my nap late and groggy. I picked Shane up late. One of my buddies called with bad news. Looked as though it wasn't going to happen.

Shano had other ideas and we ran 600m, stopped and did ten burpees and ten turkish get-ups. Then we did it twice over again. Bugger that, right? Well actually, it was kinda fun by the end because it was so hard.

Lucky for us, Canberra is a rockin' city and in the background of our work out someone was filling the air with gorgeous carillon sounds.

One that torture was over, we went and met Jo for some skating underneath the National Gallery of Australia.

A number of very cool things happened there. We skated around for yonks and this dude came down and talked to us - turned out he was a ref for Canberra Roller Derby League. His name is Fair-as Bueller. We had a little chat with him about try-outs. Next time let's hope he has his skates for a bit of a spin with us.

The very cool thing is... Jo and I taught ourselves to jump! We kinda had no choice as the cement is all separated underneath the NGA.

Very, very fun and tough as shit on your abs, being in derby position and jumping.

Probably don't need to say that by the end of our session all three of us were riding high on skating endorphins.

For your listening pleasure, and for my buddy Jo, I present to you the well gorgeous 80s version of Eddie Van Halen.
